Time(s): 11am or 11:30am
The “Beginner II” level is the third swim lesson level offered at Highland Swim Club. Although the instructor will ALWAYS be in the water, students in the Beginner II lesson MUST feel comfortable swimming/being in the water on their own. This means that although the instructor will be constantly watching the students, they WILL NOT be holding/working one-on-one with the child.
PREREQUISITES:
- Jump into the water on their own
- Freestyle kick on kick board on their own
- Kick on back with kick board
- Float on their own
- Retrieve a toy from the bottom of the shallow end
- Freestyle arms while holding kick board
- Be able to complete at least half of a lap of correct freestyle without stopping
OBJECTIVES:
- Strengthen all prerequisite techniques
- Complete full laps of correct freestyle without stopping
- Learn to tread water
- Work on the backstroke
